Fifth challenge request complete. I tried to change this up, but the major key would not abide. I had no idea Blondie's melodies were so stubborn. This was quick and fun to do, check out The Tide Is High.

Fourth request done, and this was quite a challenge. I'm not a fancy keyboard player, so I had to multitrack all the harmony parts one line at a time. Mostly Blofeld on this one. I might add drums later to The Prophet's Song.

Solo mobile recording sessions at my mom's house in Parkton MD. Lots of fun stuff. Lowbelly-esque instrumentals.

Played keys (and guitar on one piece) in a trio with Grant Olsen and Jake Hite at a giant John Lennon tribute at VAC in Garden City. We did 4 songs and played 4th in sequence. Other bands were Retrobates, The Boxers, Central City Music Co., Martian Light Brigade, Jumping Sharks, Gerry and the Dreambreakers, Brett Netson and finally The Universal.

Played with Fauxbois at Neurolux in Boise. I stayed to watch Le Fleur. Love that band.

Played bass with Fauxbois the Linen Building. The fun thing was it was all-ages so I brought Nicolai. Also watched A Seasonal Disguise.

Played with Fauxbois at Domino Room, Bend OR. Opened for Built to Spill again, this time with me and Nate as the rhythm section. Mucho compliments from the BTS guys.

Played drums in a trio with Grant Olsen (g) and Josh Galloway (b) at Neurolux in Boise. This was a benefit show for Gina Gregerson who just lost her home to fire. We did a set of 5 old songs by the Who. Gina's a big fan of the Who. It was sloppy but fun. Plenty of other folks played tonight.

Road trip with Phedra, Grant, Wendy. We saw Gary Numan at Roseland in Portland, OR. Opener MOTOR was AWFUL!! Numan did Pleasure Pinciple straight through; he played synth and sang, then he switched to guitar and gothed-metal'd out for the remainder of the set.

Nollifur night #2 at VAC in Garden City. Big Halloween show night 2. Tonight the other performers were Red Light, Wolvserpent and Owlright.

Played with Fauxbois at the stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. Famous club. We couldn't really hear each other so we played by memory. OK. Other bands The Stills (nice guys from Montreal) and Built to Spill. I spent the night in a local resort hotel. Oh so much better than sleeping in that van!

Played with Fauxbois at the Monkey House in Burlington, VT. We were assigned last after some locals on a thursday work night. Quickly cleared the house. Worst set of the entire tour that I saw.

Played with Fauxbois at the Wellfleet Beachcomber in Cape Cod MA. Kind of a surreal place, a beach bar. Sand everywhere. And we came early, hanging out/ sleeping in the van for 3 days. Crap. The show was crowded and hot. Other bands- Pretty and Nice, and Built To Spill, super high-energy from the cramped crowded space.

Played with Fauxbois at Mr. Smalls in Millvale, PA (near Pittsburgh). This may have been one of our best sets all tour. One kid even said he liked my guitar tone best of the 3. Hah! Watched BTS and they were spot-on.

Played with Fauxbois at Crazy Donkey in Long Island, NY. Scariest "green room" ever. Built To Spill excelled despite the crappy acoustics. I did get a Long Island Iced Tea.

Woke up at noon in Milwaukee. That was surreal! Played with Fauxbois at Turner Hall. This is a giant, very old splace. Great vibe, and BTS played it up.

Flew to Minneapolis to join Fauxbois on tour with Built to Spill. Played keys and guitar with Fauxbois at 1st Avenue. Then Built to Spill played. Fun after-show at 7th St. Entry with Dough Martsch DJ'ing. Crashed on the BTS bus tonight.

Played at Ben and Jessica's wedding up at Bogus Basin. Impromptu band was Jake Hite on snare, Heather Bauer on accordion, Josh Galloway on bass and me on Nord Electro. We played the original processional that we'd prepared. During the wedding I was thinking about the end of it, and in my head I imagined a kind of recessional, inverting the progression a bit and making it more triumphant. I switched to an organ patch and did it. G F6 Am C. Surprise to all, fun and funny!
